Thief Game Series

On November 30, 1998, Looking Glass Studios released Thief: The Dark Project. It was the "sleeper" hit of the year. A year later, Thief Gold was released which added 3 unreleased missions to the game, some bug fixes and, more importantly, included DromEd, the mission editing tool used by Looking Glass Studios. This allowed fans of the game to create their own missions and make them available to anyone with the Thief Gold game.

In March of 2000, Thief 2: The Metal Age was released which included an updated and more powerful version of DromEd. Sadly, Looking Glass Studios went bankrupt shortly after releasing Thief 2, but by this time a small, but growing community of "Drom Heads" were busy keeping the game alive with their own "Fan Missions". I became active in March of 2002, joining Through the Looking Glass, the defacto nexus of the Thief universe, and released my first fan mission in September of 2002. Although DromEd is a quirky and sometimes difficult beast to handle, it is a very powerful and dynamic tool which continues to be extended to this day.
